Office 2016 Mac Os X Catalina
- The latest or recent versions of Office for Mac are ready for Catalina (ie 64-bit): Office 365 for Mac (fully updated) Office 2019 for Mac; Office 2016 for Mac after v15.35 is also OK for Catalina. After v15.35, Office 2016 for Mac is 64-bit only. If you’ve been updating Mac Office 2016 regularly, you’ll be OK. Office 2011 for Mac will NOT work because it’s only 32-bit. Also support for Office 2011 ended in October 2017 so it’s really past time for a switch to either Office 365.
- Office 2016 for Mac version 15.35 and later is compatible with macOS Catalina. If you've been updating Office on a regular basis, then you should be fine. If you did NOT update it prior to installing Catalina, you will have to contact Microsoft or check their support pages for instructions on how to update it after the fact.
As we warned back in June, older Office for Mac will not work with MacOS Catalina. If you have Office 2011 for Mac or before, do NOT update to Catalina because Office will stop working. There’s no workaround for this. Office 2016 for Mac needs to be v15.35 or later, which it probably is, if you’ve updated anytime in the last few months. Check the version in one of the Office apps or go to Help Check for updates.
QuickTime 7 is 32 bit software and will never be updated. It's dead. Don't know which version of Toast you're referring to.
Office 2016 does work. That it doesn't for you suggests you've never applied any updates. It was originally 32 bit software and MS updated the entire thing to 64 bit quite a while ago.

It's been two years since Apple started making it known 32 bit software was going to be left behind. With the introduction of Mojave, they came right out said 32 bit software would not run in the next major release of macOS. No OS name at the time, but that is now of course Catalina.
